Ocho Rios is particularly known for its spectacular waterfalls, sprawling beaches, tropical gardens and fern gullies. For a memorable adventure, climb the 700-foot cascading waterfalls of Dunns River Falls or zipline over the tree lines.

Runaway Bay (so called because slaves once used this area as an escape route) is a short distance west of Ocho Rios and home to several resorts. Visit the Seville Great House and Nine Miles, birthplace of Bob Marley.
 

What To See & Do
The reason most visitors head here is to visit the Dunn's River Falls, a series of waterfalls that can be climbed to the top. This is done with the help of a surefooted guide who leads a chain of visitors who look like something from a kindergarten outing, holding hands and wobbling on their feet. The climb leads to a craft market, which lies waiting to tempt the weary tourist to part with a few more dollars. The climb itself is not difficult but bring water shoes and be prepared to get wet.

Jamaica's not all about beaches, and the cool coffee-cloaked Blue Mountains are proof of that. The name is said to come from the mist that shrouds the mountains giving them their blue tinge. A haven for birders and botanists this is the island's most beautiful interior region.

Swimming with the dolphins and stingrays are favorites for visitors to the area.

Whether you enjoy sightseeing by hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, river rafting, river tubing, ziplining (canopy tour) or motorcoach, it's available to you from Ocho Rios.

 
Accommodations
Located on 22 acres, Beaches Boscobel overlooks the Caribbean Sea, and boasts magnificent facilities for children and adults.

The newly-expanded Pirate's Island Water Park provides guests with a splash-tactic vacation experience. Guests of all ages will experience a fun and fresh Water Park, featuring nine slides and wet n' wild features for the entire family. The Water Park sits on an expansive 27,000 sq foot area with six new children slides, Kid's Zone, Tons of Slides and the Water Crawl Cargo Net Aqua Play Area.

You will enjoy seven bars and five gourmet restaurants that travel from the Mexican border throught the Caribbean to Italy.

Golf green fees and transportation are are included for adults and children at the nearby Sandals Golf and Country Club.

Included land sports are basketball, table tennis, pool tables, board games, outdoor chess, 4 tennis courts (2 lit), and shuffle board.

Included watersports are kayaks, sailing, snorkeling, windsurfing, paddle boats, banana boats, scuba diving (10yrs +), glass bottom boats, and aqua trikes.
 
All sports include equipment and instruction; golf includes instruction only.

For those wishing to experience scuba diving for the first time, PADI Discover Scuba course is offered at a minimal fee. This will give you a year’s certification at all Sandals & Beaches Resorts.

There are three swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms and fitness center. Massages can be scheduled – outdoors – with 360° views.

Between the hours of 9am-6pm, coordinators are available to care for your little ones in the nursery or the kids camp. This age group is broken down into; under 2 years, 2-3 year, 4-7 years, 8-12 years, and 13 and up. While the babies under 2 years spend most of their day indoors, being pampered by the coordinators, the older kids do organized activities ranging from art & craft in the camp to games on the beach. Private nannies are on request for an additional cost per hour for up to three children.

Be sure to tell the kids to bring a white t-shirt for tie dye.

There are lots of steps as well as elevators at this 22 acre resort.

Deluxe Family Room, great rooms in the main building which are very similar to Family Suites and Grande Luxe category rooms. Some rooms connect. Located on 3, 4 & 5th floor of the Main Building, facing the south towards the kids' center and mountains. Bedding: 1 king bed and 1 sofa bed (double) or 2 double beds and 1 double sofa bed.

Premium Family Room, large rooms with limited views of resort's grounds. Some have balconies or patios. Room features a bedroom and a sitting area. Rooms can accommodate a roll away bed. Some rooms have a connecting door. A few rooms are without balconies. Located on the 1st through 4th floors of the Main Building. Most rooms are facing the resort gardens and Venetian Terrace. Bedding: 1 king bed and 1 sofa bed or 2 double beds and 1 sofa bed.

Luxury Family Suite, Extraordinarily large rooms on the 1st through 3rd floors of both the East and West Wings. All suites have either patio or balcony. Suites are on two levels, the upper level accommodates a bedroom and is separated from the large living area by a Moorish influenced half wall. Many suites in this category connect. Located on the 5th level of the Chela Bay Building. The view from the suites is of the Venetian Terrace and resort gardens. Bedding: 1 king bed or 2 double beds.

Luxury Honeymoon Suite, All Suites have either a patio or balcony. Located on the 5th level of the Chela Bay Building. Bedding: 1 king bed or 2 double beds.

Grande Luxe Ocean View Suite, large rooms with room for a rollaway bed. The living area has a view of the resort grounds and most rooms include an ocean view with a balcony or patio. Rooms in the main building tower are larger, but without a balcony. These rooms boast very large glass fronts to allow for the spectacular view. Many rooms in this category connect. Located in the East and West Wing on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of the Chela Bay Building. Also in the Main building on the 2nd and 5th floors. Views of the ocean, pool and gardens. Bedding: 1 king bed or 2 double beds.

Honeymoon Grande Luxe Oceanview Suite, Located on the ocean end of the East & West wings on floors 1 through 3 and in the Main building on floors 2 through 5. These large rooms have room for a rollaway bed. The living area has a view of the resort grounds and most include an ocean view with a balcony or patio. Suites in the main building are larger, but without a balcony. These boast large glass fronts to allow for the spectacular view. Many rooms connect. Bedding: 1 king bed or 2 double beds.

Honeymoon Beach Suite, Suites on the beach level of Oceanfront Terrace Suites. A few steps from the patio, walk directly onto the beach. Bath features a Roman tub. Living area provides a double pull out sofa. Located on the 1st level of Lanai Block. With a view of the ocean and beach. This suite is a Concierge Accommodation (it offers Suite Concierge Service). Bedding: 1 king bed.

Oceanfront Terrace Suite, These units formerly called "Lanai" have been enlarged. Outside the room is a new large patio for each suite, beyond is the beach and ocean. Many of these suites have connecting doors. Located on the 2nd & 3rd level of the Lanai Block with a view of the ocean and beach. This suite is a Concierge Accommodation (it offers Suite Concierge Service). Bedding: 1 king bed and 1 sofa bed (double) or 2 double beds and 1 double sofa bed.

Honeymoon Oceanfront Terrace Suites, Suites gently arched along the rear of the beach. Each room offers a large patio and stunning ocean views plus suite concierge service. Suites are located on the second and third floors of the Lanai building. Bedding: 1 king bed and 1 sofa bed (double) or 2 double beds and 1 double sofa bed.

The One Bedroom Ocean View Suites are located in the main building and have large balconies facing north towards the ocean and overlook the resort's grounds. The one-bedroom suites in the Chela Bay building share an immense deck area with 4 suites. This bedroom has 1 king bed. Views from the deck are of the ocean and the resort gardens. Located on both the 5th floor of the Chela Bay Building and the Main Building. This suite is a Concierge Accommodation (it offers Suite Concierge Service). Bedding: 1 king bed and 1 sofa bed (double) or 2 double beds and 1 double sofa bed.

Oceanfront One Bedroom Suite, In the Chela Bay Building these one-bedroom suites directly face the ocean and offer daily sunset views from your balcony and views of the resort's beach. One ocean front suite is located directly at beach level with 1 king bed. Walk from your suite's patio directly onto the beach; the perfect suite for the beach lover. Located on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors of the Chela Bay Building. Bedding: 1 king bed and 1 sofa bed (double) or 2 double beds and 1 double sofa bed.

The Suite Concierge Center opens daily with a dedicated Concierge staff to assist with requests including island tours, dining reservations and just about anything you need. Concierge service also provides Preferred check-in, including Champagne upon arrival. In addition, all guests booked in Concierge level accommodations will enjoy an upgraded in-room amenity kit, personalized welcome letter in room/suite upon arrival, In-Suite bars with scotch, gin, vodka, rum, beer, red & white wine, champagne and assorted soft drinks (liquor may be removed upon request), enjoy use of his/her plush cloth robes, and a weekly reception hosted by the concierge personnel.

Documentation Required for Weddings: 

  • Bride, Groom and witnesses must arrive at the 3 working days prior to the wedding day (Saturdays, Sundays and holidays do not count), the wedding coordinator must receive the following documents in order to start the corresponding application for a marriage in the Civil Registry Office

  • These documents must be translated into Spanish and legalized by the Dominican Consulate before arriving to the Dominican Republic. 
  • Documents should be translated and legalized no more than 30 days prior the wedding date and it is the couple's responsibility to have all the required documentation before the wedding date 
  • Being the Judge is an outside service provided by the Dominican Government, the hotel can not be held responsible for any delay or alteration. The Judge will properly complete the legal procedure of filing and registering the Wedding Certificate and wedding documents at the Central Civil Board of the Dominican Republic, as well as at the Foreign Affairs Department. 
  • None of the above mentioned services are included in our Wedding Packages. 

 

Children's Program

Explorer's Club Exclusively for children ages 3-12 years old with huge playground area, pirate's ship water slide and own pool, dino-dig, big screen movies on the beach at night, games, weekly campout adventure, free pony ride. Cell phone system is available for parents in case they need to be contacted. Open daily from 9:00am-10:00pm. All activities are fully supervised. Babysitting service is also available for an additional fee.
